I’m a professional writer and editor.
I write an average of 50-80K words a year.

Over the past 20 years, I’ve written an average of a book every 1.5 years (I’m only including completed novels or nonfiction book proposals). If you’d like to find out more about my published works and forthcoming fiction, you can visit my author website or see my books on Bookshop (for indie bookstores), Amazon or Barnes & Noble. Not all the books I’ve written are published (yet!), but here is a brief summary of a few select books in my oeuvre.

Fourteen-year-old March Wong knows everything there is to know about trees. They are his passion and his obsession.

Intertwining themes of humanity and ecology, The Eagle Tree eloquently explores what it means to be a part of a family, a society, and the natural world that surrounds and connects us.

THE EAGLE TREE was traditionally published by Little A as a Kindle First and Kindle Select book. Publication rights were sold around the world. (The book also became a Chinese bestseller, in two versions of Chinese.)

The book became a national bestseller and was listed as one of the Top 5 Books on the Autistic experience. Recommended by Temple Grandin, Steve Silberman, Francisco X. Stork, and many more.

SINFUL FOLK is a medieval story of a mother who carries a hidden secret and a terrible grief. In December of the year 1377, the village of Duns in northeast England suffered a great tragedy when five children died. The villagers demanded justice from the king. SINFUL FOLK is the story of these villagers who undertook a desperate mid-winter journey with their dead children across England to the King.

Published traditionally by a small press with a cover and interior illustrations by New York Times bestselling author/illustrator Nikki McClure, SINFUL FOLK received starred reviews in BookList and Historical Novel Review and was featured by Book Note and in many other publications.  International rights were sold in eight languages.  Recommended by Karen Maitland, Brenda Rickman, Vantrease, Kathryn Le Veque, William Dietrich, and many more.

COEUR D’ALENE WATERS, a noir mystery, is set in the panhandle of Northern Idaho. In 1972, ninety-one men were killed in a mining accident nearly a mile underground; the mystery was never solved.

More than twenty years later, Matt Worthson is a sheriff’s lieutenant and the disgraced son of a Sunshine Mine survivor struggling to find the truth of what happened decades ago.

Promoted by my team to coincide in marketing and placement with the publication of SINFUL FOLK, the self-published COEUR D’ALENE WATERS sold through a first publication run and received notable positive reviews online and in print. The book is now broadly available at most bookstores.
